IF YOU ARE UNCERTAIN ABOUT YOUR FIRMWARE VERSION OR WHICH FIRMWARE VERSION TO UPGRADE TO PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES 

You do not need to do sequential firmware updates – you can just update to the latest version.

You can then upload firmware using the router web interface

SYSTEM / SYSTEM TOOLS

Firmware takes about 5-8 minutes to complete – it might look like it gets stuck at 80-90% but be patient and do not power off whilst updating firmware – router will reboot after completing update

GEM420 RECOVERY MODE

If your firmware update becomes interrupted or invalid the router might go into RECOVERY MODE – in this case you will be given the option to re-load the firmware – you can view in the following video the best way to ensure that the router accepts the new firmware when in JON RECOVERY MODE.

If your GEM420 4G Router is faulty and you need to replace it then maybe it is time to consider upgrading to a 5G Router and 5G Fixed IP SIM Card.

By using a new high speed 5G router such as the Robustel R5020 or the Teltonika 5G Router you can insert a 5G SIM card and take advantage of the new high speed 5G networks available in t he UK.
